Hayden Starts (Pre) Pre-School

Hayden started (pre) preschool last week. I word it that way because this is just the summer program... 4K officially starts in the Fall, but it will be at this school! He has gone to Mother's Day Out one day a week since he was 15 months old, but this still a big jump for us! It was more emotional for me than I had anticipated... I guess it is because this is where he will go to 4K, and unless there is some unforeseen miracle in our near future and we get our house on the market, sold and move into another school system before next Fall, he will also go to 5K there. For the summer, he is in 2 days a week, and loving it so far! He has come home with art projects every day, and he is apparently learning a lot. They must have covered "rhyming words" this week, because earlier today, I asked Hayden to hand me a hoop (a piece from my embroidery machine), and he replied with "Ok... hoop rhymes with poop!" Hmm... sure does.

First Day

Oh the "joys" of pregnancy!

So, this pregnancy has been no picnic. Carrying Hayden was a much more fun and enjoyable experience! Don't get me wrong, it is all worth it, but I have been pretty sick with this one, and the thought of most food (still) makes me dry heave! I have had some pretty strange cravings... in the beginning I wanted hot (and I mean HOT) sauce and pork skins, and just over the past few weeks, I haven't been able to get enough beef jerky and Salt & Vinegar chips. Pretty much everything has been different this time around, but I am still pretty sure it is a another boy! I am just SO ready to find out... Just 6 more days and we should know!! If it is a girl, her name will be Hollis Adele. For a boy... well... not sure yet. I kinda like the names Garrett and Harrison... but no definites yet! But I have a LOT of monogramming to do so we will have to pick something soon!

Look ma, no oil!

For Memorial Day weekend, we got to enjoy a long weekend on the coast with the Meachams. The weather was great, and fortunately the oil had not made its way to shore yet. We feel very blessed to have gotten to enjoy such a beautiful weekend with our family and friends! I will let the pictures do the rest of the talking:

Hayden turns.... FOUR!

Yes four. Four years old. How is that possible? Everyone always said "It goes by so fast..." , but you really just don't get it until you live it. So his 4th birthday was April 10th, and we had his party a week later at Pump-it-Up (or as Hayden calls it, "The Jumpy Place.") We joked that we would fork over the $300 party fee to have his party there if Curtis was able to find another job by then, and we were THRILLED to be able to uphold our part of the deal and write that check. We missed our friends and family that couldn't make it, but had a great time celebrating with all that came out! Hayden got to jump with Ansley, Ella, Hannah, Abby Pate, Joseph, Landon and Will... and of course his aunts, uncles and grand-parents!

Yes, its a character cake. Seriously, who have I become?

I don't know who had more fun... the kids or the adults??

Hayden Highlights

Hayden is HILARIOUS. He says the funniest things all of the time. He keeps Curtis and I in stitches all of the time. I usually put his hilarious happenings on facebook, but facebook doesn't keep an archive of them (that I know of?). So I am pulling some of my favorites from the past few months to list here and keep forever:

April 30

Lindsay Williams is at the mcdonalds play place with Hayden and he totally just walked up to a man eating a burger and asked if he could have his pickles. OMG.

May 15

Lindsay Williams Thank you Hayden for constantly reminding me that my belly is getting HUUUUUUGE. Just wait buddy, you ain't seen nothin' yet.

May 20

Lindsay Williams Ok... so I was just at the park with Hayden and he and this other little boy were chasing each other around and laughing. And then Hayden shook his butt at the other boy and said "Neener neener neener!" OMG! Are kids just born knowing how to do this stuff??

May 23

Lindsay Williams H: "Mom, is dad your wife?" Me: "No, he's my husband. The girl is the wife and the boy is the husband." H: "Oh so I'm a husband? I'm a boy and I'm four." Me: "No, you wont be a husband until you're married." H: "Well when can I be your wife?" ...... just not sure he is getting the concept...

May 27

Lindsay Williams Hayden has been waking up at 4:03 on the dot every morning for the past week. Last night I decided to do a little investigation and sleep in his room to see what could be causing it. Apparently his "Pooh knows your name" doll has gotten a little mis-programed, because at precisely 4:03 am, it shouted: "Hayden LOVES Macaroni & Cheese!" Haha. Problem solved.

Where to start?

Ok, I obviously can't go back 4 years, but I think I will go back a few months. To March of this year. Pretty big month for the Williams family. Curtis (expectedly) got laid off from his position at his job, and things were very unknown for several weeks. But we kept the faith and God was faithful to us as always! He landed a dream job here in town and we could not be more thankful. His previous job had him travelling away from home Monday through Friday of every week. So it was definitely time to get him home! We decided to take a weekend trip down to the gulf before he started his new job, and it was on this trip that we discovered that God is blessing us with another baby! Baby number 2 is due Dec 5 of this year, and Hayden is thrilled to be a big brother. Here are a few pics from that trip:

First Entry

Ok - NO. I am not that out of touch with reality that I am just learning about blogging. There are several reasons I haven't started a blog before now, mainly being I never thought our lives were interesting enough to document for other people to read. It recently dawned on me, however, that I need to document it for ME to read. Down the road. What a wonderful (and organized - a big plus for me!) way to keep track of what goes on in this humble life of ours. I have to finally accept the fact that my scrapbooking dreams are just that - dreams. Lets face it... Hayden is four years old now and I only have six pages from his first year book finished. Maybe that can be a hobby I pick back up when my kids are grown, but for now, life is happening fast, and I don't want to forget it!
